If she concentrated really hard, she could almost feel his presence. His calloused fingers digging into her hips, as he pulled her down the table. His heavy breaths that skittered across her flesh, leaving goose bumps of anticipation in their wake, the cushion he used to place under her head, mindful of her comfort, as they christened this very table.
Tears gathered behind her closed eyelids as the air crackled around her. It could only be the sunlight caressing her with a lover's touch. He was gone, wasn't he?

"Open your eyes, my love. I told you, I'd be back."
